The Effect of Globalization on Leisure Time Rohi Mahboobe Department of International Relations, Islamic Azad University, Ayatollah Amoli Branch, Iran. Abstract Nowadays, in all societies, most people, whether man or woman, child or adult, are engaged in doing a job or activity for entertainment after they are released from their daily work or activity. The present age, irrespective of the theories related to the creation and the reason for creating leisure time, has, on one hand, experienced the issue of globalization.: We are living in a world which has changed the relation between individual and leisure by developing mass communications and having much access to education, information, and etc. In summary, there are three periods in which the relationship between individuals and their leisure time is determined. In the first period, leisure time and work are coupled. Regarding the second one, leisure time plays a role in opposite direction with work. With respect to the third period, leisure time and work are mixed together 4. In the past, governments and families were the main productive forces of space, elements, content, kind and amount of spending leisure time. In answering this question that which individuals are making use of their leisure time, we can refer to the attendance of all persons and social forces in a general standpoint. During the time when agriculture or farming organized the economic foundation of most communities, work was going on in all days and seasons. One of the characteristics of the new leisure time is the change in its place from home to a bigger community. Another change occurred in the framework of leisure time is a change from group situation to individual one. The necessary condition for having a safe and healthy society is including healthy citizens. Prevent the development in technology and information society. But, individuals are responsible to accept the current realities or facts and move in the direction of this process by careful planning so that they can achieve success and improvement.
