Abstract An experiment was conducted at the research farm of Raja Balwant Singh college Bichpuri, Agra during Rabi season in the year 2021-2022 to study the Effect of gibberellic acid and maleic hydrazide on growth, flowering and yield of African marigold (Tagetes erecta L.) cv. Pusa Basanti Gainda. The experiment was laid out in Randomized Block Design with the three replications which consists of different concentration of GA3 and MH such as 0 (control), 50, 100, 200, 300 ppm and 250, 500, 750, 1000 ppm respectively, sprayed at 20 and 40 DAT. The observations were taken at 30, 60, 90 DAT. The foliar application of GA3 @ 200 ppm was found significantly maximum effective on the maximum plant height, minimum days taken to first flower appearance while the application of MH at 1000 ppm concentration found significantly effective and the maximum value were on, plant spread both E-W and N-S, diameter of the main stem, number of primary branches, longest primary branch, diameter of flower, number of flowers per plant, and number of buds per plant at 60 DAT. Top Keywords Gibberellic acid, Maleic hydrazide, African marigold, Flower yield. Top |
