Online published on 11 June, 2014. Abstract Scytonema sp MKU 106, an Indian paddy field isolate exhibits a moderate activity of nitrogenase when in vivo assays were performed under photoautotrophic conditions and lacked activity in dark. While 2% glucose promoted the activity of the enzyme in Scytonema sp, di and tricarboxylic acids failed to do so. Glucose promoted the activity of the enzyme several fold in light though only a feeble activity could be recorded in dark Top Keywords Nitrogenase activity, glucose, photoheterotrophic culture. Top |
