Abstract FinFET, also known as fin field effect transistor, is a type of non-planar or “3D” transistor used in the design of modern processors. As in earlier, planar designs, it is built on an silicon on insulator substrate. The present CMOS technology has many issues like power consumption, processing speed, and scaling problems to reduce those issues FinFET is used which is the advance version of CMOS model. Our main aim is to find the working of FinFET when compared to CMOS. In this paper we implemented FinFET in CLA, carry look ahead adder is an adder used in digital logic. CLA adder improves speed by reducing the amount of time required to find carry bits. A comparison is done for power dissipation, power saving and delay results have been plotted.
