Online published on 2 January, 2017. Abstract A field study on effect of cutting management and sulphur application on yield contributing characters and yield of fenugreek cv. Ajmer methi-1was conducted during Rabi 2012–13 at Vegetable Research Station, Rajendranagar. Factor one involved four cutting treatments of C0-no cutting, C1-single cutting at 30 days after sowing (DAS), C2-single cutting at 60 DAS and C3-double cutting at 30 DAS and 60 DAS. Factor two involved four sulphur application treatments comprising S0-no sulphur application, S1-20kg sulphur per hectare, S2-40kg sulphur per hectare and S3-60kg sulphur per hectare. Sulphur applied in the form of bentonite sulphur. The results indicated that plants with single cutting at 30 DAS (C1) recorded significantly highest values for maximum number of flowers per plant (33.13), maximum number of pods per plant (32.70), pod length (11.90 cm), number of pods per plant (36.23), number of seeds per pod (13.01) and seed yield per hectare (11.33 q) compared to other treatments. Early flowering (31.66) and minimum time for 50 per cent flowering (42.41 days) were recorded with single cutting at 60 DAS (C2). Among sulphur levels, maximum number of pods per plant (28.76) pod length (11.94 cm), number of seeds per pod (12.94) and seed yield per hectare (10.90 q/ha) were recorded with sulphur 60 kg per hectare (S3). Among interaction effect, maximum number of pods per plant (32.70) number of seeds per pod (13.86), pod length (12.4 cm) and seed yield per hectare (12.25 q/ha respectively) were recorded with single cutting at 30 DAS with sulphur 60 kg per hectare (C1S3).
