Abstract A field experiment was conducted during 2012–13 at All India Coordinated Research Project on Linseed, Dr. P.D.K.V, Nagpur, with thirty two hybrids produced by line x tester mating design with eight lines viz., A95B, EC-1392, EC-1424, IC-15888, GS-234, JRF-4, JRF-5, F-14 and four testers viz., NL-97, PKVNL260, Padmini, Neelum to study the association analysis for yield traits like days to 50% flowering, days to maturity, plant height, number of branches plant−1, number of capsules plant−1, 1000 seed weight and seed yield plant−1 in linseed. The genotypic and phenotypic correlation coefficient obtained between different traits was similar in direction, while in magnitude, genotypic correlation was higher than the corresponding phenotypic correlations. The traits, number of capsules plant, number of branches plant1, had the strong positive association with seed yield, while days to 50% flowering had strong negative association with seed yield. Path coefficient analysis revealed that direct and indirect effects of genotypic path coefficients were higher in magnitude than the corresponding phenotypic path coefficients. Number of capsules plant−1 showed the higher and positive direct effect on seed yield. Number of capsules plant−1 and number of branches plant−1 were taken as components for indirect selection than other for yield. Top Keywords Association, Correlation, Path analysis, Linseed. Top |
