Sixtyseven RILs of groundnut were evaluated under both irrigated and water deficit stress conditions over two years to identify drought tolerant lines using various indices related to drought tolerance. Indices MP, STI, GMP, YI and DI, had significant positive correlations with Yp and Ys. In addition, Yp, GMP, STI, MP, YI and DI had considerable positive loadings on PC1. On the other hand indices TOI, SSI and YR had maximum loadings on PC2. Twenty-two RILs were found tolerant to water deficit stress. Of which four RILs had high Yp and low YR. These four RILs have been further characterized to surrogates of water use efficiency. Top Keywords Bi-plot, cluster analysis, drought tolerant indices, Groundnut, Principal component analysis. Top |
