Abstract The present investigation was conducted at Horticultural Research Farm, Anand Agricultural University, Anand during spring and summer season in the year 2011 to study the individual effect of 11 treatments i.e. GA3 (10, 15, 25 mg/l), NAA (20, 30, 40 mg/l), 2, 4-D (20, 30, 40 mg/l) and with water spray and without water spray on reduction of fruit drop in mango fruits cv. Mallika. One young tree (13 year old) of Mallika variety of mango was taken as unit for each treatment and replicated thrice in randomized block design. Thus 33 trees were taken in this investigation. Two spraying were done at full bloom stage and pea stage of the mango tree. Among all the treatments in yield attributing characters like fruit weight, fruit diameter, fruit volume were significantly increased under treatment T3 (GA3 25 mg/l) while, maximum number of fruits per tree and maximum fruit yield per tree was recorded with treatment NAA 20 mg/l (T4). In case of Quality attributing characters like pulp-peel ratio, TSS, reducing sugar, non reducing sugar, total sugar, ascorbic acid content and shelf life of fruit were significantly increase while acidity and physiological loss in weight were significantly decreased under treatment T3 (GA3 25 mg/l) at 2nd, 5th, 8th and 11th days of storage respectively.
