College of Agriculture, Navsari Agricultural University, Navsari. The treatments involved, unweeded control plot, weed free treatment, combination of herbicides (atrazine, pendimathalin, 2, 4-D, pyrithiobac sodium) alone, combine or followed by hand weeding and interculturing. Results revealed that pre-emergence application of atrazine @ 0.5 kg ha−1 + pendimethalin @ 0.25 kg ha−1 as tank mixture significantly reduced weed counts and dryweed biomass, increased the weed control efficiency at early stage, next to weed free treatment. However, at the rest of the growth stages, two HW and IC at 20 & 40 DAS, atrazine @ 0.5 kg ha−1 PE + One HW & IC at 20 DAS, pendimethalin @ 0.5 kg ha−1 PE + One HW & IC at 20 DAS effectively controlled the weeds, reduced the dry weed biomass and increased the weed control efficiency.
