Enhancing Water Stress Tolerance in Soybean through Anti-transpirant and Mulches Dandge M. S, Ingle Y. V., Peshattiwar P. D., Mohod P. V. Regional Research Center, (Dr. PDKV, Akola), Amravati-444603 Online published on 2 January, 2017. Abstract The field experiment was conducted at Regional Research Center, Amravati during kharifseason of 2012–13, 201314 and 2014–15. The experiment was laid out in factorial randomized block design and the treatment were comprised of four anti-transparent viz., MgCO3 at 5 per cent, glycerol at 5 per cent, Na2CO3 at 5 per cent, KNO3 at 1 per cent and water spray with wheat straw mulching and without mulching which were replicated thrice. The antitransparent were spray 15 days after the flower initiation. After sowing, mulching with wheat straw was done @ 5 t per ha at the respective plots as per the treatment leaving the rows open. In respect of seed yield resulted that, amongst mulching and control treatment, significantly highest yield was recorded in mulching treatment (20.09 q ha-1). Greater seed yield under mulching treatment might be due to seed index. In respect of different antitranspirant spray, significantly highest yield was observed (21.30 q ha−1) in application of glycerol @ 5% but was found at par with treatment KNO3 @ 1%.
