Online published on 2 January, 2017. Abstract Adults and nymphs of thrips damage the crop by scraping the epidermis of older leaves and suck the oozed cell sap. The experiment on population dynamics of groundnut thrips was conducted at Junagadh (South Saurashtra Agro-Climatic Zone). The pest infestation was initiated second week after sowing of crop and remained continue up tothe crop maturity. The incidence of thrips commenced in the 29th standard weather week i.e. 3rd week of sowing indicating 0.88 thrips/plant, which gradually increased and attained a peak of 5.81 thrips/plant during the 35th standard weather week i.e. 8th week of sowing. Thereafter, it started todecline slowly toward the maturity of the crop. Top Keywords Caliothrips indicus, correlation, groundnut, population dynamics, weather parameters. Top | |
