Online published on 15 December, 2016. Abstract Root-knot nematode, Meloidogyne incognita is major pest in ridge gourd growing areas and causes considerable yield loss in ridge gourd and other vegetable crops. Survey was under taken to know the incidence and occurrence of root-knot nematode, M. incognita in ridge gourd growing districts viz., Raichur, Yadgir, Kalaburgi, Bidar and Koppal of North Eastern Karnataka. Among five districts surveyed, the maximum incidence was recorded in Yadgir district (35.12, 3.12 and 118.63) with more number of galls per root system, gall index and nematode population/250 g soil respectively followed by Koppal (28.00, 3.00 and 101.63), Raichur (26.5, 2.75 and 96.37), Bidar (25.37, 2.37 and 83.42) and Kalaburgi (17.12, 2.00 and 39.62).
