Abstract An investigation was undertaken to appraise the effect of nature of scion and grafting time on graft success, subsequent growth of scion shoot and development of the successful grafts in guava. All the treatments had marked effect ongraft growth and survival. The brown corky shoot used as scion and grafted on 1st January recorded maximum graft growth in terms of scion length, number of leaves per graft, leaf area, rootstock diameter and maximum graft compatibility in terms of bud sprouting and final survival of grafts. However the maximum graft take percentage was found in green quadrangular terminal shoot used as scion and grafted on 1st January. Top Keywords Guava, grafting, nature of scion, grafting time. Top |
