Release of Ammoniacal (NH4-N) and Nitrate (NO3-N) Nitrogen Content (kg ha−1) in Soil as Influenced by Organics and Inorganics Thulasiramireddy T.*, Bidari B.I., Chari Manjunatha Department of Soil Science and Agricultural Chemistry, University of Agricultural Sciences, Dharwad, Karnataka *email: thulasi097@gmail.com
Online published on 15 December, 2016. Abstract A lab experiment was conducted during 2015 to study the release of ammoniacal (NH4−N) and nitrate (NO3− N) nitrogen content (kg ha−1) in soil at monthly intervals by the influence of organic manures and inorganic fertilizers to meet the nitrogen requirement of chilli crop. The experiment involves 11 treatments with three replications and the design followed was randomised block design. Results revealed that release of ammoniacal and nitrate nitrogen were comparatively higher with vermicompost than FYM substitution, where higher ammoniacal nitrogen and nitrate nitrogen was released in the treatment that received substitution of 50 per cent recommended dose of nitrogen through vermicompost + 50 per cent nitrogen through inorganics followed by per cent nitrogen through FYM + vermicompost + 50 per cent nitrogen through inorganics and lowest was recorded with absolute control. Top Keywords Vermicompost, FYM, NH4− Nitogen, NO3 Nitrogen, inorganic fertilizers. Top | |
