Abstract Introduction Anxiety is the leading cause of disability and a concern to all. Factors triggering anxiety disorders, are stress, physical conditions, genetic background and hormonal imbalances. Women are affected twice than men. The present study aims to determine the prevalence and correlates of Anxiety among women of reproductive age group. Aim and Objective To determine the prevalence and correlates of Anxiety, among women of reproductive age group in central India Method The present study is a Cross sectional study, conducted in field practice area of Urban Health Training Centre, (UHTC), of Department of Community Medicine, MGIMS, Sewagram. Systematic Random Sampling was done and Becks Anxiety Inventory and self prepared questionnaire was used to collect information from 370 reproductive age group women. Results The present research shows, the prevalence of anxiety in reproductive age group women is 31.4% and Anxiety is significantly associated, with occupation, marital status, not getting kind of family support in illness, and presence of vaginal discharge. Discussion There are wide study differences in the prevalence and correlates of anxiety, which maybe due to different methodologies used in the studies and socio demographic and cultural variations. Conclusion This research revealed, that the prevalence of Anxiety in reproductive age group is considerably high, which necessitates, highly women focused, preventive, initiatives, along withearly diagnosis and management.
