Abstract An effort was made to find out the regional variation of status of ossification centres at elbow joint and dental eruption in healthy girls 50 each from age group of 14-15 years and 15 to 16 years from Bagalkot region of North Karnataka. Conjoint epiphysis was found fused with shaft of humerus in 100% of girls. Medial epicondyle was found to be fused with the shaft of the humerus in 90% of girls aged between 14-15 years and in 100% of girls aged between 15-16 years. The head of radius was fused in 90% girls of 14-15 years age and in 96% girls of 15-16 years age. Fusion of upper end of ulna took place in 94% of girls by the age of 14-15 years and in 100% girls of 15-16 years. There was no significant difference with respect to eruption status of second molar between the two age groups as shown by p value=0.30 in all four quadrants. The space behind second molar tooth appeared early in lower jaw [73 % in right lower quadrant and 72% in left lower quadrant] as compared to the upper jaw [36% in both right and left upper quadrant].
