Abstract This study investigates the behaviour of okra markets in the Gujarat. The results revealed that positive trend was noticed in the arrivals and prices of okra in all the markets. There was increase in arrivals of okra over the years in Surat, Vadodara, Bharuch and Navsari markets, whereas, decreasing trend was observed in Vadodara market. An increasing trend in prices was observed in all the markets, but the quantum of increase varied from one market to another. In order to continue the competitive condition of the selected markets there is need to strengthen the market intelligence and communication within markets which would provide a better platform for guiding the farmers in marketing their produce.
