Abstract While studying euglenoid flora of Jalgaon district (Maharashtra State) about 200 euglenoids were collected from rivers, ponds, lakes, streams, channels, pools, puddles, ditches, tanks, industrial effluents and sewage waste. Some of them were in the form of bloom, while others persisted for a long time and abruptly disappeared . In this paper 31 taxa of genus Trachelomonas Ehr. representing 9 species, 21 varieties and 1 formae are described and illustrated along with habitat and periodicity. Of these 31 taxa Trachelomonas abrupta Swir. var. minor Delf, T.curta Da Cunha f. punctata (Skv.) Popova, T.oblonga Lemm. and T. volvocina Ehr. var. subglobosa Lemm occurred frequently, while T. armata (Ehr.) Stein var. steinii Lemm. was rare. Almost all taxa were found in polluted water except T. Playfairi Delf. which was collected from natural water. T. hispida (Perty) Stein em. Delf. var. granulate Playf., was observed in hot spring.
