Online published on 15 December, 2016. Abstract A study was conducted to evaluate performance of power operated single row paddy weeder, conoweeder and ambika paddy weeder for weeding in line transplanted paddyfield. The improved variety of paddy namely MTU-1010 was selected for the study. The study was conducted at farmer's fields during kharif season of 2015–16 at Village-Khargahna, Block-Takhatpur, District-Bilaspur. The man-hours required per hectare in weeding with single row power weeder were 12.82 as compared with ambika paddy weeder and conoweeder which required as high as 47.62 and 62.50, respectively. The field capacity of powerweeder, ambika paddy weeder and conoweeder were 0.078, 0.021 and 0.016 ha per hour, respectively. The weeding efficiency of power weeder, ambika paddy weeder and conoweeder were found to be 74.50%, 83.87% and 72.45%. The results revealed that power operated paddy weeder reduces the weeding costs, weeding time significantly. Top Keywords Weeder, Paddy, Field capacity, Weeding efficiency. Top |
