Abstract An experiment was conducted on experimental farm of Department of Agricultural Meteorology, College of Agriculture, Dr. Vasantrao Naik Marathwada Krishi Vidyapeeth, Parbhani, during kharif 2013to study the relationship between meteorological parameters and growth and yield of Bt hybrids. The experiment was conducted in split plot design with three replications. Treatments under study were four sowing dates in kharif i.e. D1 (25th MW), D2 (26th MW), D3 (27th MW) and D4 (28th MW), and four Bt hybrids Mallika, Ajit-155, Bunny Bt and Rashi-779 were sown with spacing 120 x 45 cm. Amongst the hybrids all the biometric observations were recorded significantly highest in Ajit-155 and highest yield alsorecorded in Ajit-155. Significantly highest seed cotton yield (907.62 kg ha−1) was obtained with sowing in 25 MW followed by sowing in 27th MW (677.36 kg ha−1) which was at par with earlier sowing in respect of all yield attributing characters. The PTU also significantly influenced by different treatments of sowing dates and different hybrids. The highest number of PTU accumulated in 25th MW sowing followed by 26th MW sowing. The lowest number of PTU recorded in 28th MW sowing. Among the hybrids the highest number of PTU recorded in Ajit-155 and Bunny Bt while lowest PTU recorded in Rashi-779.
