Abstract The Influence of organic, integrated andconventional practices on the pest incidence and natural enemy complex in different crops viz., groundnut, soybean, cotton, chickpea and maize were studied during kharif and rabi seasons of 2015–16 at University of Agricultural Sciences, Bangalore. Our data suggested that the application of synthetic fertilizers could increase pest populations. However, there were lower populations of insect pests in the crops grown with the organic manures than on those grown with the synthetic fertilizers, indicating that organic manures may have the potential to reduce pest attacks in the long term. Natural enemy populations were higher in the organic fertilizers treated plots than those treated with synthetic fertilizers and combination of both organic and synthetic fertilizers treated plots.
