Evaluation of Cytological Profile of Different Garlic Cultivar (Allium sativum L.) Kadam S. S., Gadakh S. S.1,*, Kathale M. N., Kulkarni U. G. College of Agriculture, Latur 1College of Agriculture, Nandurbar *email: gadakhsuraj@gmail.com
Online published on 15 December, 2016. Abstract Cytological studies with respect to mitotic metaphase chromosomal observations showed the more or less variability among the different garlic genotypes. Meiosis in wild garlic is regular with 8 bivalents. Chromosomal studies showed that all investigated materials have a diploid number of 16 (2n = 16). One of the features of garlic is its high level of karyotype variability and significant differences between clones for chromosome length arm ratios.
