Online published on 15 December, 2016. Abstract Results revealed that all the bioinoculant treatments (seed treatment, soil drenching and foliar application) significantly enhanced the growth parameters as well as seed cotton yield in Cv. PH-316. However, seed treatment and soil application of the Azospirillum lipoferum + Pseudomonas striata (PSB) + Methylobacterium spp. (PPFM) recorded significantly highest root length (38.67 cm), root fresh weight (26.72g), root dry weight (10.65g), shoot length (109.69 cm), shoot fresh weight (442.84 g) and shoot dry weight (151.30g). This treatment also recorded significantly highest no. of bolls (28.67/plant), boll weight (17.47 g) and seed cotton yield (1349.70kg/ha). The second best treatment found was seed treatment and soil drenching of Azospirillum lipoferum + Pseudomonas striata (PSB) + Methylobacterium spp. (PPFM) + Bacillus circulans (SSB). This was followed by the treatments, Methylobacterium spp. (PPFM) seed treatment and soil drenching + Phyllosphere spray, seed treatment with Bacillus circulans (SSB) and seed treatment with Azospirillum lipoferum. Thus, it is inferred that the application of bioinoculants found promising in present study could be used for enhancing plant growth, yield and yield contributing traits in cotton.
