Online published on 2 January, 2017. Abstract The mean incubation period of C. chinensis L. on grains of chickpea varieties varied from 5.11 to 5.22 days. The lowest incubation period (5.11 days) was noticedin Digvijay while highest in PG-5 (5.22 days). The highest per cent egg hatching was observed on grains of PG-5 (97.34 per cent), while it was lowest on Vijay (89.51 per cent) with incubation period were 5.22 and 5.12 days, respectively. The shortest mean larval-pupal duration (22.54 days) of C. chinensis L. were recorded on grains of Vijay variety and longest on variety PG-5 (26.63 days). The lowest adult emergence (73.19%) was observed on grains of Vijay variety while highest (89.32%) was recorded in variety PG-5 with sex ratio of 1: 0.98 in both varieties. The highest average adult longevity was observed on grains of PG-5 (13.18 days) variety. The variety Vijay showed lowest average longevity (9.82 days) for female (9.55 days) and for male (10.08 days). Top Keywords chickpea, varieties, Pulse beetle. Top |
