Identification of Source of Resistance to Major Diseases and Pest of Safflower Murumkar D. R., Gud M. A., Akashe V. B., Shinde S. K., Kadam J. R. All India Coordinated Research Project on Oilseeds (Safflower), Zonal Agricultural Research Station, Solapur- 413 002, M.S. (India) Abstract A total of 43 safflower genotypes were screened during rabi 2007–08 against Fusarium wilt in wilt sick plot, Alternaria leaf spot and aphids (Uroleucon compositae Theob.) under natural field condition for identifying resistant/tolerant sources. Out of these accessions, only three genotypes viz., GMU-3706, GMU-4538 and GMU-5133 exhibited multiple resistance against major diseases and pests of safflower under field evaluation by recording moderately resistant reaction against Fusarium wilt in wilt sick plot coupled with tolerant reaction to Alternaria leaf spot and moderately tolerant reaction to aphid.
