Transmission of Groundnut Mosaic Virus by Aphid Species Badak K.S., Sawant D.M., Deshmukh G.P. Department of Plant Pathology, MPKV, Rahuri Abstract Various isolates of Groundnut mosaic virus was transmitted only by Myzus persicae and Aphis craccivora. Adults of M. persicae and A, craccivora in a groups of 10 per test plant and given acquisition access for 10 min and inoculation access for 1S min gave maximum infection. Pre-acquisition starvation for 2 hrs was beneficial, while post-acquisition upto 2 hrs yielded low concentration. The feeding aphids lost infectivity after 60 min. The studies indicated non-persistent relationship of Groundnut mosaic virus with M. persicae and A. craccivora. Top Keywords Groundnut mosaic virus, Aphid vectors. Top | | |
