Abstract

Field experiments were conducted to study effect of different spacing and fertilizer level on population of natural enemies viz., ladybird (Coccinella septempunctata) beetle and Green lace wing (Chrysoperla carnea) in Bt cotton. Results was shows that the highest population of ladybird beetle (Coccinella septempunctata) was observed in S3–120+60×30 cm (37037 plants/ha) plant spacing at 90 DAS (5.90) followed by 75 DAS (5.56), 60 DAS (4.97), 45 DAS, (4.24) and 30 DAS (2.70). Results pertaining tothe effect offertilizer levels were showsthat highest population of ladybird beetle (Coccinella septempunctata) was observed in F3–180: 90: 90 NPK kg/ha. at 75 DAS (3.14) followed by 60 DAS (3.07), 90 DAS (2.81), 45 DAS (2.66) and 30 DAS (2.09). Highest population of Green lace wing (Chrysoperla carnea) was recorded in S4–180×30 cm (18518 plants/ha) at 45 DAS (3.95) followed by 30 DAS (3.38), 90 DAS (2.52), 75 DAS (2.35) and 60 DAS (1.01). The effect of Fertilizer levels shows that highest population of Green lace wing (Chrysoperla carnea) was recorded in F3–180: 90: 90 NPK kg/ha. at 90 DAS (3.95) followed by 75 DAS (3.86), 60 DAS (3.18), 45 DAS, (3.11) and 30 DAS (2.63).
