The role of external assistance to improve the health indicators in Karnataka Ms. Chandrika PhD Scholar, Institute of Development Studies, University of Mysore Online published on 27 September, 2019. Abstract Measuring and analyzing the indicators for each sectors are essential to understand the progress of the nation. In case of understanding the status of health, both positive and negative indicators play a vital role. This article looks at the important health indicators and also discuss about the indicators that are developed based on the projects supported by the external assistance. The health projects supported by external assistance in Karnataka has been classified into three major areas i.e., RCH, diseases specific projects and infrastructure and health system development projects. The indicators such as fertility rate, institutional delivery, immunization, infant mortality rate, maternal mortality rate have been taken into consideration to analyze the influence of external assistance to improve the health indicators in Karnataka.
