Factors affecting knowledge level of kinnow growers about cultivation practices of kinnow in Punjab

Abstract

The study was undertaken with the objective to assess the knowledge of Kinnow cultivation among Kinnow growers. It was observed that majority (50.83%) of respondents belonged to age group 3854 year. One third (33.33%) of the respondents educated up to graduation and 35.00 per cent of the respondents had medium operational land holding (35.00%). More than half (50.83%) of respondents had medium level of extension contacts and 40.00 per cent had medium level of mass media exposure. More than half (55.00%) of respondents belonged to medium knowledge level category followed by high knowledge level category (29.17%) and low knowledge level category (15.83%). Independent variables such as education, experience of Kinnow cultivation, extension contacts and mass media exposure were positively and significantly correlated with knowledge level of respondents at 0.05 level of significance.
