Abstract

A field experiment was conducted at the Main Experimental Station of Vegetable Research Farm, NDUAT, Kumarganj, Faizabad (U.P.) during 2014–15. There were 6 treatments and tested in Randomized Block Design with 4 replications to examine the effectof FYM and Pressmud on arvi. Results revealed that, the highest plant height (55.600cm), petiole length (28.050cm), sheath length (18.350cm), number of leaves plant−1 (3.800), length of leaves (34.525cm), width of leaves (22.675cm), girth of shoot (10.950cm), no of cormels plant−1 (13.000), weight of cormels plant−1 (179.320g), weight of mother corms plant−1 (106.075g), length of corms (7.055cm), girth of corms (10.270cm), total yield (151.183q/ha), specific gravity (0.883), dry matter (22.868%) and starch (22.540%) was recorded under T2 i.e. treatment combinationof 75% RDF through fertilizers + 25% NPK through FYM.
