Abstract This study was considered to record the effect of temperature and photo period on biochemical and haematological parameters in Turkey during summer and winter seasons at Chennai (TN). Biochemical estimation of Calcium (Ca) Phosphorus (P) and Alkaline phosphatase(AP)were determined Haematological parameters including Haemoglobin (Hb), packed cell volume (PCV), Total Erythrocyte COWlt (TEC) Total leucocyte count (TLC), and differential leucocyte count (DLC) were estimated. Significant difference due to sex in serum Ca, P & AP, Hb, TEL, TLC, during winter was detected. Significant difference was also observed due to sex in PCV and lymphocyte levels during winter, but no significant effect in heterophil, monocyte and eosinophil levels was visible during winter. Significant difference due to sex was recorded in AP and PCV during summer while there was no significant difference in other parameters during summer in Turkey. Top Key words Turkey, temperature, photoperiod, Ca, P and alkaline and haematological parameters. Top |
