The highest plant height (220.47), dry matter accumulation g plant−1 (162.04), test weight (26.85g), grain yield (3155 kg ha−1) and stover yield (13456 kg ha−1)of sorghum were recorded under sole sorghum. While, sorghum equivalent yield (6174 kg ha−1) and land equivalent ratio (1.75) were recorded under sorghum + pegionpea var. Vaishali. Whereas highest number of pods plant−1 (182.50), number of seeds pod−1 (4.57), seed yield (1480 kg ha−1) and protein content (21.28%) of pigeonpea were recorded under sole pegionpea var. Vaishali. Hence, intercropping of sorghum with pigeonpea var. Vaishali in 1: 2 ratio is recommended as it utilized land more efficiently. Top Keywords Intercropping, Pigeonpea and Sorghum. Top |
