Abstract

A study was conducted to find out the effect of active immunization against Somatostatin in Cobb Strain of broilers. The somatostatin was conjugated with human serum alphaglobulin by standard procedures and immunized. The body weight of immunized birds were 2280.63±10.75 gandin control was 2080.63±11.64 g at eighth weeks of age. It was 9.61% higher than the control group. The feed efficiency in the experimental and control groups were 2.10 and 2.35, respectively. It is concluded that immunisation against somatostatin improves both of body weight and feed efficiency in broilers.
