Abstract Prevalence of arthropod parasites in bovines was investigated from villages of eastern zone of Vidarbha region (Districts-Bhandara, Gondia, Chandrapur, and Gadchiroli). The overall prevalence of infection in bovines of Bhandara, Gondia, Gadchiroli and Chandrapur districts was 79.39, 71.40, 79.71 and 78.23 per cent respectively. The effect of season on the prevalence of infection was studied in Mansoon, post monsoon, winter and summer season at eastern zone of Vidarbha region. The season-wise overall prevalence of arthropods parasitism in monsoon, post monsoon, winter and summer season was 77.24, 87.84, 78.73 and 70.78 per cent respectively. On statistical analysis the seasonal variation in the prevalence of infection in eastern zone was found highly significant (P < 0.01) in all four districts.
