Incidence, survey and symptomatoloy of chilli mosaic virus grown under polyhouse condition in western Maharashtra Narute I.K., Sawane D.M., Deshmukh G.P. Mahatma Phule Krishi Vidyapeeth, Rahuri-413 722, Dist. Ahmednagar, (MS). Abstract Viral diseases are the major hurdle in the way of successful cultivation of capsicum in polyhouse. Dark green mottling and distortion was the symptoms on chilli produced by viral infection. The average viral disease incidence was noticed in polyhouses upto 20–70 per cent in Satara, Sangli, Pune, Kolhapur and Ahmednagar districts of Maharashtra. Detailed symptomology on the basis of test plant i.e. California wonder indicated the presence of five isolates viz., isolate I (cucumber mosaic virus), isolate II (Potato virus Y.), isolate III (tobacco mosaic virus), isolate IV (cucumber mosaic virus + potato virus Y.) and isolate V (cucumber mosaic virus + tobacco mosaic virus).
