Online published on 23 December, 2016. Abstract The studies on plant biophysical characters in different rice accessions against yellow stem borer showed that wax content from both leaves and stems ranged from 0.103 to 0.916 mg, in which maximum surface waxcontent were observed on TKM 6, Ptb 33, O. minuta, O. glaberrima and IET 23715. Whereas, minimum wax content were found on IET 23272, IET 23673 and TN 1. Trichome densities on rice different accessions revealed that maximum numbers of trichomes were observed on IR20, TKM 6, Ptb 33 and IET 23710 as against IET 23664, IET 23718, IET 23272, IET 23670 and IET 23673 which observed minimum numbers of trichome densities.
