Abstract Root and rhizosheric soil samples of Cajanus cajan were collected from different agricultural field of Jalaun vicinity and brought to the laboratory for isolation, identification and colonization of different VAM species in Cajanus cajan plant root. Among tested varieties of C. cajan maximum colonization index was recorded in Konch, followed by Jalaun agricultural field and Madhaugarh agricultural field. Maximum spore count was recorded for Glomus-1 followed by Glomus mossae and acaulospora was least dominant in all three agricultural field samples.
