Abstract

Looking towards the importance of biological control as a component of integrated disease management of plant pathogens, the bio-control activity of Trichoderma harzianum, Trichoderma Viride, Pseudomonas fluorescens and Bacillus subtilis was evaluated against Sclerotium rolfsii causing foot rot of Finger millet. All the bio-agents tested were found effective in reducing the growth of the test pathogen. Maximum inhibition of Sclerotium rolfsii was achieved due to Th (P) Followed by Th (JCR), Pf. and Bs with 73.77, 73.00, 72.66, 71.55 and 63.33 percent inhibition over control, respectively. To efficacy of plant extracts against Sclerotium rolfsii showed maximum per cent inhibition due to Sarphagandha (87.77%) followed by Neem (85.88%) and Sadafuli (83.33%). However, Glyricidia (25.22%), Tulsi (24.44%), Karanj (14.11%), and Bougamvillea (12.22%) were less effective. Glyricidia and Tulsi leaf extracts were less effective while at par with each other. Karanj and Bougamvillea were also equally but less effective over control for Sclerotium rolfsii
