Bio-efficacy of fungicides against Pyricularia oryzae the incitant of fice blast

Abstract

Rice blast incited by Pyricularia oryzae Cav. is one of the most serious disease inflicting heavy losses. Nineteen fungicides were evaluated. Among these, tricyclazole (500, 1000 and 1500 ppm), mancozeb (1000, 2000 and 3000 ppm), carbendazim (500, 1000 and 1500 ppm), iprobenfos (500, 1000 and 1500 ppm), propiconazole (500, 1000 and 1500 ppm) and edifenphos (500, 1000 and 1500 ppm) were found highly fungitoxic as cent percent growth of P. oryzae Cav. was checked.
