Online published on 15 December, 2017. Abstract This study aimed to survey the role of social support and coping styles in mental health of women who apply for Divorce. The research method is correlation. The number of 110 women applying for divorce of Rasht city in 2013, were selected through Available sampling method and responded to social support, mental health and coping styles questionnaires. The gathered data were analyzed by Pearson correlation coefficient and stepwise regression analysis. The results showed that there exist a positive and significant relation between social support and mental health (P>0/01). Also the results indicated that the relation between problem focused coping style with mental health is positive and significant (P>0/01). The relation between emotion focused coping style and mental health is negative and significant (P>0/01). The stepwise regression analysis showed that the predictive variables could significantly predict 29 percent of variance of mental health. The results of current research in consistent with other studies indicate that social support and coping styles have an important role in mental health of women who apply for divorce.
