Abstract The present investigation entitled “Effect of weed management practices on yield and yield attribution of urdbean” was carried out during Kharif season of 2013 at the Research- cum- Instructional Farm, Rampur selaqui, Dehradun (U.K.). The experiment was laid in randomized block design with three replications. The treatment comprised of eleven weed management practices. The results of present investigation revealed that minimum total weed density, minimum total dry weight, maximum leaf area index, crop growth rate, relative growth rate, yield attributes, seed yield, Stover yield and harvest index (%), weed index (%) and highest weed control efficiency were obtained under weed free treatments, followed by hand weeding twice at 20 and 40 DAS and imazethapyr @ 40 g ha−1PoE and minimum was obtained under weedy check. In the experimental field, Partheniumhysterophorus, Digeraarvensis, Celosia argentia, Cynotisaxillaris, Alternanthrasessalis and Echinocloacolonum were the dominant weeds and found throughout the crop growth period.
