Abstract

Information literacy has become the literacy of vital importance for higher education in today's millennium. All of us specially students must be information literate to survive in this digital-age and cope-up with the digital challenges that are becoming barriers in their studies and profession. Assessment of students’ information skills is important to determine how information literate they are. This paper intends to examine the information literacy skills and its use by students of Al-Barkaat Institute of Education (B. Ed.). The results of the study describe information skills assessment and have identified the skills that need improvement. It has also identified the type and format of resources students most frequently use in course assignments.
