Response of air layering of guava to paclobutrazol and coloured polywrappers Singh D.K., Bhuj B.D.* Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Anta, Baran, Rajasthan - 325 202, India * Present Address: G.B.Pant University of Agriculture & Technology, Pantnagar, U.S. Nagar, U.P. - 263145, India Abstract An investigation was undertaken to study the effect of different doses of paclobutrazol (PBZ) and different colours of polywrappers on rooting and success of layering in guava cultivar Sardar. The results revealed that red and blue polywrappers with a combination of 500 ppm PBZ significantly increased the rooting and survival of guava (cv. Sardar) layers as compared to lower dose and white polywrapper. Induction of profuse rooting under red and blue polywrapper layers was due to the accumulation of higher percentage of dry matter content in root. Top | |
