Studies on effect of phyllosphere diazotrophs on growth and yield of groundnut Gaikwad A.L., Deokar C. D., Shete M. H., Pawar N. B. Department of Plant Pathology and Agricultural Microbiology, Mahatma Phule Krishi Vidyapeeth, Rahuri, Dist-Ahmednagar. Abstract The field experiment was undertaken with mass multiplied and liquid formulated strains of Azotobacter chroococuum along with commercially available liquid bioinoculants (Vitormone and Azotomeal). Out of ten bacterial strains isolated from phylloplane of groundnut, six isolates were found to be nitrogen fixer while only three were found to be the efficient nitrogen fixer. The foliar sprays of bioinoculant vitormone was found most effective in increasing the plant height, number of nodules per plant, nitrogen content in nodules, Nitrage reductage activity, N-content, protein content and oil content and 1000 kernels weight and grain and dry matter yield of groundnut followed by Azotomeal which was at par with Azotobacter chroococuum strain. Top Key words Groundnut, Vitormone, Azotomeal, Azotobacter chroococuum. Top |
