Yield gap analysis of black gram production through cluster frontline demonstration

Abstract

Black gram is an important food legume widely consume in India. It also play an important role in sustainable agriculture enriching the soil fertility through biological nitrogen fixation. Krishi Vigyan Kendra Rajsamand (Rajasthan) during the period from kharif 2018–19 to 2020–21 conducted total 145.cluster frontline demonstration of black gram. The highest seed yield (7.48 q/ha.)was recorded in the year 2018–19 It was 28.08% more over the farmers practices (5.84 q/ha.).Average extension gap was recorded 1.35.q/ha. and average technology index was recorded 46.63%.The technology gap was recorded between 4.52 and 6.51 q/ha. The productivity gain under CFLDs over farmer practices created greater awareness and motivated other farmers to adopt appropriate production technology of the crop.
