Abstract The present study was undertaken to find out the effect of different light condition on seedling growth of Alangium lamarckii. Maximum length of shoot (31.05 cm.), seedling length (69.8 cm.), photosynthetic area (251.4 cm2) and total moisture content of seedling (79.09%) were observed in shade condition and the average maximum length of root (46.43 cm), collar circumference of shoot (0.55) and the maximum dry weight of seedling (3.501 gm) was found in full sunlight (100% light) condition followed by semi shade (45% light) and shade (20% light) conditions, respectively. The observation of maximum shoot length and foliage in shade condition and the maximum root length and seedling dry weight in full sunlight was little bit unusual.
