Abstract

The present investigation envisaged a systematic study of experimentally induced hepatic and cardiac toxicity of γ HCH and its amelioration with Camellia sinensis in male Wistar rats. Rats were divided into four groups, the control (untreated), γHCH (20mg/kg bwt), γ HCH (20mg/kg bwt) plus Camellia sinensis (100mg/kg bwt) and Camellia sinensis alone (100mg/kg bwt) for a period of 45 days at department of veterinary pathology, college of veterinary science, tirupati. Histopathological studies of liver and heart revealed that incorporation of Camellia sinensis appeared to be beneficial to rats to a great extent in attenuating and restoring the toxic damage sustained by γ HCH exposure.
