Abstract Urinary incontinence is a common distressing problem for the elderly population. This can negatively impact their physical and mental health and manifests as psychosocial problems such as embarrassment social disapproval, isolation, low self esteem, depression, sleep disturbances, stress, anxiety and anger which could be relieved by imparting knowledge, positivity, counseling and promote social support.
