Abstract The emergence of an information society and knowledge economy requires new methods of working (particularly a necessity to innovate), developing new products and/or services. Information literacy (IL) forms the basis for lifelong learning. It is common to all disciplines, to all learning environments, and to all levels of education. The students are drowning in Information Ocean. Changing times require changing skills. Information literacy is often being recognized as essential skills for workers to survive in a knowledge-based society. Information literacy is essential to bridge the gap between information literates and information illiterates. Knowing Authentic Information is Essential to Create New knowledge (KICK).
