Abstract Jatropha seeds collected from sixteen different locations were evaluated for physical and physiological seed quality characters including fruit set percentage for identification of suitable seed production area. It revealed that Odukkampalayam of Coimbatore district have got the potentiality for development as seed production area. The seeds of this location recorded higher seed and seedling quality characters including storability compared to other locations.
